Gilbert O'Sullivan returns with 'On the Record', a new studio album from one of Britain's most enduring songwriters. Produced by Gilbert alongside Andy Wright (Simple Minds, Eurythmics, Jeff Beck), 'On the Record' finds Gilbert continuing to write with the insight, melody and understated humour that have defined his remarkable career. Highlights include the soulful 'It's Me', with its unmistakable seventies feel and echoes of Steely Dan; the duet 'Is That You?' featuring Andrea Corr of The Corrs; and the wryly autobiographical 'Growing Old Disgracefully', where Gilbert quips that 'growing old disgracefully beats the hell out of staying well'. Mixed by Tony Hoffer (Air, Beck, Belle and Sebastian), the album balances intimacy with rich, timeless production, allowing Gilbert's voice and songwriting to take centre stage.
