French-American alto saxophonist Plume's 'Escaping the Dark Side' album is as intense as it is spiritual, driven by an urgency to play and a true sense of groove. Featuring Blue Note recording artist Ambrose Akinmusire on trumpet as special guest on two tracks. A graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, Plume is a former classmate of Christian Scott, Walter Smith III, Jason Palmer, Warren Wolf and Kendrick Scott, all leading lights of jazz today. For fans of Kenny Garrett, Ambrose Akinmusire, Jackie McLean, John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, Stefano Di Battista, Branford Marsalis, Logan Richardson, Jaleel Shaw, and Will Vinson.
